Compensation: $45K to $47K to start, based on experience. Benefits paid by the firm.
Location: Albany, NY - Near All Restaurants, Shopping, and Entertainment. Firm Parking Spaces
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Summary:
This Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting a small group of principals in various practice areas daily. In addition to excellent communication skills and a mastery of office skills, this role requires the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, take initiative and make decisions within the scope of your assigned authority. Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-level administrative support to partner, associate, and others as needed
Prepare legal documents including client communication responses, discovery requests, subpoenas, and FOIL requests
Greet clients and visitors; respond to phone calls; transmit messages accurately and promptly
Review, organize and catalog discovery materials
Maintain calendars and schedule appointments, meetings, and conference calls
Maintain and operate office equipment, supply inventory and replenishment
Maintain neat appearance of reception, conference room, and pantry
Prepare check requests, expense reimbursements, client/matter forms; manage petty cash
Scan, profile, and retrieve documents across multiple platforms
Support attorneys during Federal, criminal, and civil trials as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
1 to 2 years of legal experience (work and/or internship)
Critical and analytical thinking in high-pressure situations
Maintain confidentiality and handle high-profile cases
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Mobility within the office to perform duties
Independently prioritize and coordinate work, also collaborate as a team
Effective multi-tasking, meeting deadlines in a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere
Accurate typing, spelling, and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
LexisNexis proficiency a plus
